What's the most underrated/overlooked resource or service offered by the Center for Career Development?

The drop-ins! Many people complain about the fact that they cannot get an appointment because the Center gets booked very quickly, but drop-ins are a chance to talk to an advisor, and they occur so often that one could get the equivalent of a full appointment over several days of drop-in advising.

What advice would you give to someone considering your major/industry/area of expertise?

Don't be afraid to stay open to any career options. As a first year in particular, I know that I may change my major or potential career idea, and that's okay!

How has your idea of a career or your career interests changed in the past 10 months?

I came in as a potential ECE or COS BSE major, and as I have started taking a COS class, I have realized that I do not enjoy coding, so I have been able to realize that I do not want to get a job that relies heavily on coding skills. I have also realized that I love interacting with others. 

In my free time, I like to:

In my free time, I like to run, especially when I'm stressed out. I also like to bake -- my favorite thing to bake is layer cakes. Finally, I like to just chill and watch a movie with my friends.

One thing I'm looking forward to this semester is:

I'm looking forward to meeting all the interesting people here on campus, as well as developed new friendships with my peers. And, since I'm in GER 101, hopefully picking up some German as well!
