Jessica Matzko

Senior associate director, internship programs

Jessica oversees internship funding awarded through the Center for Career Development, as well as supporting infrastructures to enable students to reflect on and learn from their internship experiences. She works directly with students, creating programs to help them procure meaningful internships; prepare and build on their experiences; and navigate challenges that arise during their internships.

I enjoy: Folk, blues, jazz and funk.

One of my first jobs after graduation: Doing door-to-door outreach to non-English speaking households for the U.S. Census in Philadelphia.

An internship/experiential opportunity that helped shape my career path: Serving as my college’s state senator for the South Carolina Student Legislature.

I’m energized by: Learning and trying new things.

Some small things that make my day better are: Boba. Stationery supplies. A new book.
