Are you interested in spending the upcoming summer in D.C., planning programs and social events, and meeting with lawmakers and other special guests? The Center for Career Development is hiring an undergraduate (first year, sophomore or junior) for the paid position of Princeton in Washington (PIW) student coordinator in D.C. this summer. The application deadline is February 26.
Launched over fifty years ago, PIW brings together Princeton students, alumni and experts in the nation's capital for speaker and panel discussions, site visits and social events. Participants learn about careers in public service, connect with peers and explore educational and experiential opportunities throughout the city. The summer program is open to all undergraduate and graduate students, as well as recent alumni. Past events have included talks with Supreme Court justices and lawmakers, social events, behind-the-scenes tours of the Capitol, CNN newsroom tours, networking sessions and more.
The responsibilities for the position include coordinating speaker events, planning social and cultural events, organizing site visits and tours, raising awareness of the program and more. The coordinator will begin part-time work in the Center for Career Development in March (start date flexible) for two to four hours per week. Full-time work begins in June in Washington, D.C. PIW operates from mid-June through late July, and the position ends in August after final budget and summary reports have been submitted.
