Follow the guide below to apply for funding through the SSII Fund.

How To Apply

Find & apply for a nonprofit internship

Before applying for the SSII Fund, you'll need to secure an offer for an internship with a nonprofit or government agency.

Identify nonprofits/government agencies with missions you'd like to support
Meet with a career adviser to discuss your goals and plan your search
Search for internships using Handshake, CareerShift and nonprofit/government posting sites; and attend employer events and career fairs
Prepare a resume and cover letter and get them reviewed by Peer Career Advisers (PCAs)

Apply for the SSII Fund

After securing an offer, you can apply for funding. You will need to:

Review the application
Draft your responses in this Google Doc
When you feel confident with your answers, cut and paste them into the Handshake application and submit it

The Center for Career Development typically responds to applicants with a decision within seven business days.

Apply for summer housing

If planning to apply for Princeton University summer housing, complete your SSII application by April 25.

Complete tasks before your internship begins

If your application is approved, there are a few tasks to complete to receive funding.

Receive the first installment of your funding

75 percent of your funding will be awarded through SAFE in May/early June.

Complete tasks during your internship

You will need to complete:

A learning contract signed by your supervisor during the first week of your internship
Weekly written reflections in Canvas beginning June 5, continuing throughout your internship
A mid-term evaluation form
An end-of-internship form

Complete post-internship tasks

You will need to complete:

A post-internship reflection
A poster you'll present at the Service & Social Impact Internship Showcase in the fall

Receive the final installment of your funding

The remaining 25 percent of your funding will be awarded through SAFE.
