Ph.D. consultants including Princeton alumni and HR manager at Boston Consulting Group, will lead a virtual site visit for graduate students covering:

  • An overview of the field of consulting
  • Jobs in consulting
  • How recruiting works
  • How transferable skills gained from any Ph.D. program can be applied towards a career in consulting

Speaker Bios

Garner Soltes *16

Garner Soltes *16 joined BCG in following the completion of his Ph.D. in molecular biology at Princeton, and has now been with the firm for 5 years. Garner started as a Consultant in the New Jersey office, and has worked with clients from leading public and private sector healthcare entities ever since. His work has ranged from developing a five-year cell & gene therapy strategy for a leading biopharma company to assisting a world-renowned epidemiologist in setting criteria for the reopening of a U.S. state after COVID-19 lockdown. In 2021, Garner became a Principal and now guides teams of consultants and clients to achieve joint project goals. In his personal time, Garner enjoys cycling, baking, and spending time with his partner and 3-year-old daughter.

 

 

 

 

Christina Simeone

Christina Simeone, Talent Acquisition Senior Specialist at BCG joined the BCG New Jersey office in August 2017. Christina manages the Advanced Degree Candidate (ADC) and Experienced Hire recruiting processes for the New Jersey office.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Sowmya Jairam

Sowmya Jairam, Ph.D. Consultant at BCG has extensive experience in cancer and pediatric genetics, having led the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center's hereditary genetic testing platform for >5 years following a Ph.D. in the life sciences. Sowmya joined BCG in August 2022 in the New Jersey office as a consultant. She holds a Ph.D. in biochemistry and molecular biology with a minor in cancer genetics from the IU School of Medicine, Indianapolis. She also has a love for all things retail, particularly luxury retail.
