Enjoy a private dinner and conversation with alumnus Jeff Kuperman '13 and his brother Rick, the choreographers of the new Broadway musical, The Outsiders, then attend the 7 p.m. performance.
This event is part of Arts At Work: NYC, a summer series of arts performances and showcases, panel discussion, and site visits that introduce students working in New York City during the summer months to creative alumni and the various arts institutions they serve.
Free and open to all Princeton students (including Class of 2024).
Jeff Kuperman '13 & Rick Kuperman
Jeff Kuperman and his brother Rick Kuperman are a directing and choreography team for stage and screen, whose work includes the new musical adaptation of The Outsiders.
Other recent Kuperman Brothers work includes a new immersive show from the producers of Sleep No More; choreographing Alice by Heart (Lortel Award, Chita Rivera Award, and Callaway Award for Outstanding Choreography. Drama Desk Nomination), Cyrano (New Group and Goodspeed) with Peter Dinklage and with music by The National, Phish at Madison Square Garden, and fight directing & choreographing both Frank Wildhorn's The Count of Monte Cristo in Saint Petersburg, Russia and Broadway Asia’s immersive Peter Pan in Beijing.
The brothers recently choreographed the feature film Dicks: The Musical (A24 & Chernin), with Nathan Lane, Megan Mullally and Megan Thee Stallion. Other work for camera: Living with Yourself with Paul Rudd (Netflix) and Silent Retreat (Miramax). They’ve directed shorts and music videos for Jesse Malin & Billie Joe Armstrong, Anthony D’Amato and Miracles of Modern Science that have screened at the Film Society of Lincoln Center and online at Entertainment Weekly, NPR, and The Huffington Post.
Stage directing credits include Smile (FringeNYC), Roll! (Ars Nova), The 39 Steps (PST), and Dispossessed (HERE). Other choreography credits: ALIEN/NATION (Williamstown), Beardo (Pipeline), Orpheus in the Berkshires (Williamstown), The Light Princess (American Repertory Theater/New Victory Theater, NY Times Critics' Pick), My Machine (New Ohio/Dixon Place), Hold Music (The Living Theater) and Tit for Tat (Ailey Citigroup/White Wave/Steps on Broadway).

The brothers are grads of Harvard and Princeton, third degree black belts in Kenpo Karate and Canadians with US Green Cards. Rick likes Key and Peele, podcasts, and navel-gazing. Jeff likes Russian literature, paella and literally nothing else.
