Event Description

From the words on the page to the tone of the writing, there are many clues you can glean from a job description to understand the role, the institution and the timeframe from job posting to hire.

In this workshop, you will learn how to identify clues in a job description to inform the content of your CV and cover letters, and how to approach your job search as you work towards degree completion.

This workshop is part of the Academic Job Search Bootcamp, a series of programs covering the essentials of how to prepare for an academic job search. This series is recommended for Ph.D. students considering applying for academic jobs in fall 2025, though is open to graduate students of all years and disciplines.

You can find the full listing of the Academic Job Search Bootcamp programs in Handshake.

Email Satomi Chudasama ([email protected]) to request accommodations at least two weeks prior to the program.
